Blood Drive

Our next blood drive is Aug. 27 in the Scout House from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can sign up Aug. 20 at the Information Desk in the Lobby or by contacting Marsha Asplin. All donors will receive a coupon for a free pint of Blue Bell ice cream. Please consider donating your life-saving blood this month.  

KEYS Senior Adults

All aboard! The KEYS seniors will be traveling to Galveston on Sept. 12 to visit the Railroad Museum, take a short ride on the Harbor Express, view rail cars, and then enjoy shopping/lunch on The Strand. The cost of the trip is $12 plus lunch. The bus will leave St. Peter’s at 8 a.m. and return at approximately 4 p.m. Sign up and pay at the Information Desk in the Lobby.

Alzheimer’s Support Group

We will meet Aug. 21 at 1:30 p.m. in S209 for a time of caring and sharing.

Adoption Support Group

The Adoption Support Group is for families thinking of adopting, in the process of adopting, or who have completed adoptions. It is designed to uplift, support, and encourage families who have been led by God to adopt a child or children. We will meet Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. in E225.  

Parents’ Night Out

Enjoy a night out while your kids have fun at church with friends and activities. Our next Parents’ Night Out is Sept. 1 from 6-9 p.m. for children from birth through fifth grade. Check-in is at the Nursery. Dinner and activities will be provided for children ages 2 and up. For children younger than 2, bring your child’s dinner when you drop them off. The cost is $20 for the first child and $30 for two or more children. Register HERE. Church member registration is Aug. 14-30. Community registration is Aug. 21-30. The Gospel of John

Please join us beginning Sept. 6 for a study of John’s Gospel. We meet Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in S205 throughout the year. Child care is available. 

A Study of Romans and Isaiah

This will be a two-part study, which begins Sept. 6 with a focus on Paul’s letter to the Romans lasting 12 weeks. After the first of the year, we will resume with a study of the book of Isaiah, which will be an eight-week study. This class meets Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in E225. Register at the Information Desk in the Lobby. 

Monday Morning Bible Study

This women’s Bible study will be working through 2 Samuel this fall. The study will cover the history of King David’s reign, including the covenant God made with David and his descendants. We meet at 9:30 a.m. in E225 for weekly informal study beginning Sept. 11. We have monthly lunches and participate in several mission projects. The study runs through the school year, and you can join at any time. The group uses the Serendipity Bible, which includes questions for each book of the Bible. The Book of Isaiah

This 12-week study of chapters 40-55 of Isaiah begins Sept. 12 at 9:30 a.m. in E225. You can register at the Information Desk in the Lobby. Study manuals are $16 and will be available before the first class.  

To Live Is Christ: The Life and Ministry of Paul

Paul shows us how to live fully as a servant to Christ. In this 11-week Beth Moore study of the Book of Acts and the Letters of Paul, we will be challenged to follow Paul’s example just as he followed the example of Christ. Please register HERE for the 9:30 a.m. class (meeting in S201) or 6:30 p.m. class (meeting in E225). The study begins Sept. 12. Please purchase a book to bring the first day of class.

Financial Peace University  

This nine-week course will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, and spend and save wisely using practices that are both biblical and practical. Our Fall 2016 class paid down $22,000 in debt in nine weeks and cut up dozens of credit cards. We will meet Wednesdays beginning Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Asbury Hall. Register HERE. We will have a short preview session at noon on Aug. 27 in the Sanctuary.  

ECDC Lead Teacher and Substitutes Needed

The Early Childhood Development Center has an opening for a lead teacher for 4-year-olds. Applicants must have early childhood experience and either a CDA or college degree, preferably in early childhood. Please contact Bobbi McKinley at for more information or to submit a resume.  ECDC is also looking for substitute teachers for the upcoming school year. Clothed by Faith Back-to-School Clothing Drive

Please help Clothed by Faith restock their clothing storage for families in need. Requested items include boys’ and girls’ clothing, undergarments (new), socks (new), and shoes of all sizes. All items must be clean, stain-free, and in new/gently used condition. To receive a donation receipt, please bring items to Clothed by Faith at 802 Dominion Dr. #100 (M-F, 10-4 p.m.). Clothing also may be dropped off in the designated bin in the Lobby throughout the month of August. 

St. Peter’s 40th Anniversary Celebration

On Sunday, Oct. 8, we will celebrate 40 years of ministry at St. Peter’s. Everyone will worship together in the Sanctuary at 9 and 11 a.m. One of our former pastors, Charles Millikan, will preach and worship music will be provided by many of our music groups and praise bands. Please mark your calendar for this special event in the life of St. Peter’s.

Making worship happen at our West Campus at Cinco Ranch High School depends on the help of many volunteers. The Missions Team is encouraging all members to volunteer as you are able. Volunteer With Children’s Ministry
