Alyssa Sandlin

Director of Children's Ministry

I've served at St. Peter's UMC for seven years and have been a Children's Ministry Director for over ten years now. I am passionate about sharing God's love with children of all ages and partnering with parents and caregivers so they feel equipped to disciple their children outside the walls of the church. I also believe that the most powerful influence in a child's life is that of their parent- but that children do need more than the influence of only their parents. Thus that we, as a church, can widen the circle of influence to combine the heart of the home with the light of the church to make a profound impact in the lives of children.

My husband, Ross, and I met in Youth Group and began dating in High School. We've been married for twelve years and have three children- Becket, Bennet, and Blaire. We also have three pets- a dog, Nora June, and two cats, Pippin and Gibson.

I tend to have two cups with me at all times- water and either a coffee, or more likely, a Diet Coke.

While I do have some signature family recipes, cooking doesn't bring me a lot of joy in this phase of life- but I am well known for my fancy popcorn- i.e. cooked in a large pot with the perfect ratio of melted butter, salt, and freshly grated cheddar cheese! Thankfully my husband Ross is an excellent cook and he loves sharing that talent with our family and friends.
